YES Initiative Launched

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

President John Mahama launched his Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Initiative on Tuesday night in Accra. The launch was attended by a grouping of aspiring new business owners, a number of young entrepreneurs, business leaders, representatives of political parties and government officials.

With a seed allocation of ten million Ghana Cedis, YES is expected to open its call for proposals shortly for budding young entrepreneurs to submit their business ideas or plans for consideration. President Mahama said government will continue to invest and allocate more funds to the YES to allow for more young people with innovative business ideas to access the facility to kick start their businesses.

"We will leverage additional funds under different financing schemes to support young entrepreneurs", he noted.

According to President Mahama, "Embedded in the YES initiative that we are launching today, is a challenge to our people to dare to dream, and reach out for support to turn those dreams into life changing opportunities for themselves and others."
